Elizabeth Papa, LMHC, LPC-S, Registered Play Therapist

For over a decade, Elizabeth has been helping clients in the therapeutic environment to construct a life they are proud and excited to live. She is a graduate of the University of Mississippi where she obtained her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and specialist degree in Play Therapy. She has worked in a wide range of mental health environments including intensive in-patient treatment, schools, non-profits, and her outpatient private practice. Elizabeth has been providing online, telehealth services for clients in both Virginia and Florida. Her love of the counseling profession extends to supervising interns and residents who are seeking clinical licensure. She is also a proud military spouse whose home base is in Pensacola, FL.

Chris Rhoden and Stephanie Arnold, Counseling Residents

 

Chris a counseling resident, working from our location in Richmond, Virginia.

He brings  a Master of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Rehabilitation and Mental Health counseling. He is a licensed counseling resident and is providing therapeutic services with Elizabeth as his supervisor during residency.  In addition to his counseling education, he brings twenty-two years of experience as a Naval Officer where he coached, counseled, and led sailors in the formulation and attainment of both personal and organizational goals. He has taught mathematics at the university level, and has volunteered at First Descents, an organization dedicated to serving young people with cancer, and at The Doorways, Richmond, an organization that helps caregivers of patients at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.

Chris offers a person-centered approach to counseling. What does that mean? He believes the relationship between counselor and client is the most important factor in counseling. Once that foundation is established, he offers  a variety of evidenced-based practices to help you achieve your goals, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strength-based approaches, and others.

Stephanie is our counseling resident, working from our location in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

She obtained her Master of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. She is a licensed counseling resident and offers compassionate and collaborative care. She views you as the expert of your experience(s), believes your unique story matters, and that you have the capacity to create the life you desire.

Stephanie specializes in and is passionate about working with clients who experience disordered eating behaviors, low self-esteem, anxiety, and body image challenges. She has experience working within non-profit organizations, with a wide range of individuals who have experienced trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, perfectionism, women’s issue, and more.

By utilizing evidence-based approaches, Stephanie works to support you in building sustainable habits and creating lasting change, creating a life that reflects your values and goals.

Stephanie is here to offer empowering support to help you alongside your journey towards more freedom, connection, and peace with yourself, your body, and in your relationships.
